Express Entry

The Express Entry system is now the only way to apply for 3 Canadian permanent immigration programs:

– Federal Skilled Worker

– Skilled Trades

– Canadian Experience Class

The Express Entry is a system, in which you create a profile, register your profile on the Job Bank Canada website, and then are placed into a pool of applicants. You do NOT need to fill in a complete application like before. There are no government fees for profile creation in the Express Entry system.

Before applying for Express Entry, you must take the IELTS test and obtain at least 6.0 on all bands, AND provide a credential assessment done by a designated institution. Without these, the Express Entry profile cannot be created.

At regular intervals, Citizenship and Immigration Canada will invite applicants from the pool to make a complete application, this is called the Invitation to Apply. Applicants with the highest scores for their profile are invited to apply.

Once you received your Invitation to Apply, you have 60 days to submit your complete application, including criminal background checks and all support documents. The regular fees will apply for this complete application (IRCC fees are, in Canadian dollars, 1040$ per adult and 150$ per child)
