As of January 2nd 2013, there is a new federal immigration program called Federal Skilled Trades Program, which will accept 3000 applications for the year 2013, from workers in trades such as construction and agriculture. The applications are said to be processed in under 12 months, which is great news as most federal programs used to take between two and three years of processing time.
